suggestions needed
For my comedy class, our main project will be writing an episode of an already existing, on the air right now comedy.
I need suggestions. It can't be the Office, that's overdone. And that's almost all I watch in terms of comedies.
Help me. (Can't be Curb Your Enthusiasm either, that might be done).

Scrubs and Weeds is a good idea. How about entourage?

Samantha Who? is surprisingly funny and will definitely be back on the air. That would be a fun one to do.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, they're great. I definitely have some shows I have to check out. One thing to keep in mind, my instructor was a head writer for shows like Night Court and Family Matters (and thinks that Steve Urkel is a comic genius) so he really likes the old school traditional sitcom. I think that leaves out stuff like Entourage and Weeds. Not sure though.
I'm also considering Hannah Montana. The characters on that show are really fun, and it's a traditional family sitcom.

are you saying Steve Urkel ISN'T comedic genius? I mean, just look where his career has gone...

its always sunny in philly definitely doesn't fall under the tradition sitcom. how i met your mother would be your best choice from my list.

jason, let us know what show you decide to use. and maybe a summary of your episode.

Coupling isn't on the air anymore. I looked it up, it went from 2000 to 2004. but that would have been a great choice.
I'll throw in another vote for It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Carpoolers. 4 guys who commute together in a Prius to work every day in California. One of the characters actually looks like he is based on Steve Urkel grown up.
