OK, to borrow a phrase from Mynym and turn it around a little -- if you want to have peace, you need to make peace.
Hey everyone, not that I can tell you what to do, but I think we ought to lay off Mynym. I'm not going to delete anything unless it's way over the line (or a redundant post), but I would ask that we not personally attack him here any longer.
I do believe that a time will come when all amends will be made -- mynynm has made a large number of harsh accusations that simply are not true -- but vengeance is not ours, so let's not try to take any. Perhaps more insults will occur as a result of this post -- to me, the band, to you. . . But if peace were easy to make, then war wouldn't be so constant. So withstand the temptation to respond in kind. Again, healthy debate is a good thing, and if you feel like you can do that with mynym, that's great. But let's not personally attack him.

It's Latin - 'nym' is 'name.' So I guess 'MyNym' stands for 'Christopher' because that's his name...just a guess. I agree with the non-bashing post...and I really don't think MyNym wanted his posts to be taken as an anti-lookmachine bashing spree on all you guys. To make peace,the witholding of personal insults is a good start...but peace won't be awarded to you guys without affronting these accusations and refuting them, if possible, with hard core evidence. By doing that, I think you guys will become a stronger band. Or if you find that you can't, then I still think you'll become a stronger band, only the raod to becoming so will be much harder. So please, don't shrink away. I love how you responded with blessings, Jason, but if MyNym's accusations 'simply aren't true' then simply back up why not by using Scripture, which is irrefutable. Try to put aside the offensiveness you guys get out of MyNym's posts and try to focus on the main points. You've made it clear that MyNym is welcome here...so, please, don't just ignore him. God wants us all to seek truth...let's not give up this opportunity to do so among fellow Christians.
Where is it written that every accusation requires a defense? I don't have the time to refute everything negative that someone says about me. Imagine if there were 100 mynyms, would I somehow be obligated to answer them all in turn? This would be a full time job! If you want to believe it, that's your decision. I think that the charges are so outside the bounds of reality that they do not warrant any response at all at this point.
Well, Jason, why don't you start with one or two major things that you disagree with? Are you really being challenged by 100 mynyms? If not, be bold and not bashful to hunt out scripture. Don't say, "I can't answer everything, so I won't answer anything." Scripture is the key to a solid discussion here! Everything else is just as I said, "typing fingers and clinking pots" and will get us no closer to knowing, testing, approving, the real "character of the moon"!!

Then so be it. Iron seeks to sharpen iron and you shrink away because it doesn't feel right. There are sparks that fly when metal hits metal so it MUST be wrong. If you have spent all this time on this blog, and have not used scripture as your ally, than pray, what is your ally? The band members that back you up? Are their testimonies more reliable than God's word? Go ahead, instead of looking at the moon keep staring at your fingers as they type.

Ah, N, God bless you. Just have faith that there is iron other than Mynym that I can be sharpened with. And it has nothing to do with feeling. It has to do with conviction. Consider me the weaker brethren who can't eat food offered to idols if you must in this situation, but truly if I were to continue the debate it would be SIN!
Sin to think about truth? I have a hard time believing that God is convicting you not to continue and address these defining issues (yet, who am I to judge?). I want to remind you that it is not only MyNym who is at the head of this 'debate,' but also B and N and now myself...you can call me R hehe (and no, I am not related to the Watt's family). I've read through these threads..some more carefully than others...but I've noticed that MyNym's 'attacks,' as you put it, are on a totally different level than the responses given to him. I've read some very offensive posts pointed towards Mynym (not limited to Jason), yet he has never responded with cheap shots at your love life or other rediculous, un-called for responses like that. He has also not had very many people rise to his defense on these issues, as you all have, yet he has not given up. His posts may be harsh, but I think you feed the harshness by giving replys that MAKE him have to be repetative. He is doing his duty as a Christian brother to sharpen your understanding, and has said he had hoped for you to do the same - I love the 'iron shaping iron' analogy. He has given reasons for his 'accusations' in detail...oh the detail. :o) Pride is not an issue with him as much as with you! Mynym's posts are full of giving all credit to God and encouraging you to think in terms of what is of God and what is evil. If what he says is true...then you are offended not by him, but by the Truth. You are right tho, I don't see how this can really go further - because it seems our goals here are not really set on finding Truth but rather on seeking self preservation. Am I wrong? I don't want to be seen as a Mynym defender, but as a fellow Truth seeker. I think Mynym may very well have delivery problems in the way his words come out, and yes, sometimes I have to read his posts a few times before I can understand some of what he's saying - but I think his words are full of insight given to him by the Holy Spirit and I don't think they should be shrugged to the side because he isn't 'nice.' B and N also have this insight and a friendly air about them, yet you won't answer their questions either. If you are set on this, then ok...but please don't dismiss this altogether in your mind - if you won't share Scripture with us (which would be contributive in the search for what is True), then at least find it for yourselves and pray that God will show it to you.

You see, if you don't give up your self you will not be redeemed nor esteemed by the One nor me. There are those who want to be deemed good and esteemed but refuse to be redeemed. Redemption, this is the part where evil is admitted to. I admit, I used to be much more evil. At any rate, I am not going to talk about people, people, people. I speak about vast patterns of transcendent good and transcendent evil so that people can see. And you see, people who seek evil can be set down ANYWHERE in His story and they say and do the same things, again, again, again. When your words fit in with these things that should cause you pause. It would cause me pause! It has caused me great pause in the past! But the Herd...nope, it just walks on. But the Herd did figure a little something out and that is that their attacks were being turned back to good. Haha! It seems takes 'em a bit, this thinkin' stuff.
The parable of the Teacher,
Once upon a time there was a Teacher who told many parables about the greatness of good and the evil it defines. One day, a group of young men walked passed and the Teacher noticed that little ones trailed behind them. He noticed that these young men seemed to be playing in the woods and leading little ones astray there. So as He was teaching He said, "It would be better for those who lead little ones astray to be crushed under stones and thrown into the sea."
Now the group of young men who were all bundled together closely, for they were weak alone, said, "He hates us!" Then, they came over and spat on Him. But He just wiped it off and went on about the business of teaching people anyway. And, it just so happened that He continued teaching that such young men were evil. Not because He wanted to make something up to get them back for spitting but because He taught the Truth.

There is a spiritual war that is constant. As you get close to it in the words, word patterns and patterns of thought, there can be no "making" of peace. That is one thing that the Maker does not make! He does not seem to be seeking to save the Devil nor evil. It is His decision and what He says goes.
You feel I have been harsh. Yet, the real flame thrower that burns bundles of sticks with the flame of righteousness still sits on the rack. You see, when you don't really know what hell is you don't really know what heaven is either. When you don't really know, you just don't know!
I will, pretty much say what I am led to judge is right. I don't like it but that's the way it is. Why? Because mainly, there seem to be only remnants of souls/minds here to judge my own thought patterns. I have to sift through them for Truth. And those who speak in certain patterns of images, etc., the most you learn from them is the exact opposite of what they say. This is, really, very useful. Just turn the pattern on its head, every time. I might say, you can learn a hell of a lot from it! Just invert what evil seeks to say and it is the good! I have actually learned very much from this and this little place. I am looking back at what the Holy Spirit did too where the words and symbols went all funny. I have learned very much from that too! I cannot deny it. And at any rate, I do not get up at 5:00am either to answer two seekers of Truth unless Something gives me a good kick in the pants. Oh well. This Herd is somewhere beyond stooooopid, mooo! And yet, I have learned a lot from it and that which really seems to guide it along.
I believe that this has again gone too far. If I am wrong forgive me. However, it seems that you are of the opinion that we are "somewhere beyond stooooopid, mooo!" We may not have studied as much as you or have quite the knowledge of the Truth (assuming you have studied it more and God has given you the knowledge) but I hardly believe that this is a good reason to criticize in this fashion. Another thing: "Just invert what evil seeks to say and it is the good!" Was this meant to call us evil? or am I misinterpreting it? I would like to be greatly mistaken and be told that you realize that we are God's children, sin-broken though we are, and that you are imperfect as well. Tell me I am wrong.

I call people who are actually smart but act stupid in trying to have the faith of children, stupid. Also, when they form a Herd for protection, I say what it is. Now as to the little ones who are actually little ones, out of the mouths of babes the same faith can be spoken. But when those who are not babies try to speak as if they are babies they are being stupid. And if they all follow each other in this they are like a Herd.

No, it is meant to call evil, evil. For someone to say, "Hitler, he was evil...but I am not!" Is just silly. It's the same type and patterns of evil, in us too. I was also talking about how to figure it out. It is not all about me or all about you or anyone else, you see. We are both PART (Still here but as parts.) of vast things that go right on through many generations of people. The sins and patterns of fathers go on down through information patterns....so a son could say, "Dad?!" And well they should for he will know how to help his son, if he has the eyes to see.

As far as hell goes, I do not want to make anyone sick to their stomachs. That is why I do not go into the full extent of what hell on earth has looked like in His story. I have not been through hell at all. And for anyone who lives in the most prosperous, most healthy, this place where the poor have poor eye-sight from watching too much TV and have health problems from obesity! To say that they've been through "hell," is just silly. But if hell is just the absence of heaven, then that just makes more nonsense.
My aim, is to give true meaning to words that have been emptied of meaning. Also, it is not really just this band's fault that they use words the way they do, etc. They are living in a proto-fascist Republic. Again, we are part of bigger things! Yet, at the same time we are each without excuse for failing to seek to stand at His side.

has been passed around on these posts. Indeed, this is as true as all Scripture is.
2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..." this is infinitely important...but we knew that....

(NOTE: Why be the man who starts a quarrel? Even when sharpening iron does so, it is usually wrong. Causing anger = causing your brother to sin. Be careful...)

Brothers, how much healing do you feel you've brought here? Maybe you could try another method of sharpening such as what's mentioned above? God is love, and with love (with Him) is God's preferred way for us to relate to one another. I believe that with all my heart, because it's truely what is effective in real life.

I don't think this verse applies in this instance..or maybe even in Christian to Christian heated discussions. But really, this discussion shouldn't be heated at all.
Proverbs 9: 7-9: "He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. GIve instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning."
You see, wise men do not see rebuke as a personal offense - but rather as an opportunity to become even more wise by casting off fallacious thinking. Foolish men get offended and as a result shut out the wisdom. So....why are people here offended? Plus, if we realize that we are all here for God's glory, we should put ourselves and our egos very low on our priority lists..seeing as glorifying God should be number 1 and all that is human nature certainly does not glorify God.

There are many verses that deal with evil men trying to 'sow discord among brethren.' (Proverbs 6:19 for one.) These evil men try to appear to be wise, but are driven by wicked plans. Let us NOT confuse these verses with the situation at hand. We know this does not apply, because Mynym and B and N and others are speaking Biblically and are not twisting things around for the purpose of creating discord. Therefore, why should they be hushed?

As people so gracefully stated already, there is a line between sharpening and hurting. Where is that line? Who knows, maybe up your butt and around the corner. It is trully up to the individual's conscience to decide, but let me say this. There should be a warning label on these damn iron sharpening kits saying, "Warning: Sharpening iron can slip and cause serious damage to oporators and spectators. Caution is advised" Though maybe just a small nick is the result and you can live with that. Or maybe a severed arota valve results and well, let's face it, death will probably occur in that case. And then if you like it or not we all have a mess on our hands. One can obviously ignore the bloody mess that is staining their brand new Jordans or they can try to clean it up.
I have felt convicted, and i admit i have crossed the line (many times) with mynym, mainly due to "emotional goo," badly attempted humor, or simply because i can be a mean cuss sometimes. I can't promise i won't do it again. But anyway, Mynym, i apologize. What you do with it is up to you. So for now i'll continue to graze in the fields.

Mynym has really never taken cheap shots at me, it was me who did all the cheat shooting. Despite what you say, No sense of humor, that is what the N stands for, right? I was trying to apologize to Mynym, and what you think i honestly care not. Why did Jesus use parables, ummm? I will not answer that question professor humorless... but if you really want know in Matthew 13:11-15 and Luke 8:9, it really gives a clear picture why.

Language itself is designed to be sermonic. It is designed. It is a weapon. It is His word. So I think...and then use it as it is intended, carefully enough. You who lack judgment do not have the eyes to see this. These who speak for silence can honor their own words first. I take them at their words and wrap them about their own heads. There is deathly silence, your own.
The Herd has moooed that they are ignorant and seek many paths to lack judgment and just continue grazing as they always have. They mooooed that they are "body" and not the mind. Bodies do not talk back. At any rate, the Herd's continual mooooing for silence will not be honored.
The parable of signs...and wonders! And excrement too!
Once upon a time there was a group of boys. They were going to begin a journey up a mountain. They came across a sign...and wondered at it. One said, "I wonder...it feeels wonderful to wonder! Hey, let's just sit down here and look at this sign so we can feel wonderful!" So they did. They felt wonderful! They sat there a long time. But some didn't feel so wonderful anymore. Eventually one said, "Hey, maybe we should try reading the sign?" But everyone else said, "No! Then it won't feeeel wonderful anymore!" So he went silent. But then he said, "What IS that smell, anyway?" Everyone else replied, "Be quiet! We feeeel wonderful, don't you?!" And he replied, "Well, a little, I guess." Everyone else said, "Well, you better. We do! For this is our wonderful sign!" But they looked at each other a bit, just to make sure everyone looked like they were feeling wonderful.

The One does not hurt anyone's feelings. His words do not do the hurting. He is pure.
Just know that a wise man who has worked at His side knows how to dance with the devils who do hurt feelings. Wise guys make some fun, so hurt feelings are bound up by it. Because that is their power. And so on.
"Where is that line?"
It is iron that draws lines. It is something that must be actively sought and found. It is not something that anyone can just say, "It hurts. Therefore, it just isn't right!" This gives power to the one who does hurt feelings. In fact, everything will come to be defined by him because that is his power, pain and fear. This can all be turned on its head. You just have to know how.
The One, He does not cause these things, evil does.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline."
Ah...ah, hah! There are those who want to pretend they are His disciples but do not want His discipline.
Tomorrow, perhaps I will set the pattern of the "silent treatment" down in history so that people interested in wisdom can have a look at it.
I do not pretend to know the Book well. But I have yet to see it contradict wit and wisdom.

The story of the Herd.
There was the Herd. It calmly grazed as it always had. Now, there was a Rancher who road over the hill one day. He had many cattle prods and some branding irons. He tried to lead the Herd over the hill to where green pastures and still waters were. But the Herd, was hard to herd! He prodded but the Herd said to each other, "Moo." "Moo, moo?" "Moooo."
When translated this means,
"Sniff my butt."
"Does it stink?"
"Nooo."
So the Herd just kept sniffing each others butts and going in circles.
But the Rancher saw a big cow, it had calves sucking its teats for milk! So he figured, "Hmmm, if I get the big cow maybe all the calves will follow." So he took out a brand and put in the fire, its symbol was a cross. He got it white hot. Then, sizzzzle....right on the big cow's butt! "MOOOOO!" Which, when translated means, "OUCH!" Now, the big cow ran around in circles for a bit after this. The calves, they ran after it trying to get hooked up with a teat again for more milk. But the big cow, it stayed in the valley it was in. So the Herd did too. The Rancher thought, "Maybe it will be a holy cow one day." He chuckled, "Sure was a mad cow..."
The Herd had settled back down to chew its cud. But it chewed its own crud, crud that was all in the mud. For the valley it was in was not green, it was more like a valley in the shadow of death.

I am uniting the Kingdom with the living Logos and total Truth. You are dividing it...putting "reality"/logic in one corner and "religion"/spirituality in another. And so, one has nothing to do with the other. This cannot stand. At every point where it actually matters in reality, such as politics and art, where things actually become manifest...there are piss poor decisions being made, evil. Yet, the Herd calls itself "Christians."
How silly.
This is why you have an atheistic ally, after all. They like this "Christianity" and prefer it that way. But His story is actually strong, strong! Just as He is strong, very strong. I do like to be right, what is wrong with that? And so I seek to stand with Him to be made righteous...which is to be made right. But you who think it is arrogance to be right and so on, well, you're finding what you seek. You are wrong.
There is one who is finding what he cannot seek, his own sorry self.

I give you credit for a change in attitude about trying to shed the light of Truth on things, that is certain! What motivates it is uncertain. After all, you have been hammered. As long as we work at cross-purposes publicly in art and politics then our crossing will be public. Yes, I know that now it is tough after many thought patterns have been layed down, etc. "Why does he get to look like Jesus in the story! Man, that sucks! And why do we look that way?" It's not just made up. It's because if you are becoming more like Him and if your thought pattern matches more closely then you would start to fit into stories as the Good Guy. If you put the Truth first and then do your art it is good. Not to mention if it is good and true, it sells too. It appeals to the remnants of souls all around. It has to be True and talents invested wisely leading to more and more skill, though.
You can send me an email with private questions, if you like. What has been and continues to be said and sung publicly will be met publicly. My art vs. your art. It is only fair and just. They were wise men, to establish the notion of free speech.
A parable of two artists painting different pictures and viewing them differently has come to my mind. But I can write you this one privately, this once...although the whole pattern and picture of your art is public.

Some devils just can't stop dancing... They just love to see themselves twirl away. They think "oh boy!!! Everyone is watching me dance because I am such a good dancer!!! I am so good at dancing that everyone is transfixed!!! I'll just keep dancing so that they all know how to truly dance."
