Purely aesthetic reasons. Well, not purely, but mostly. I don't want to say what the other reasons are exactly, but I'd guess they are actually sexual.
Josh Hilferty has always said that guys' nipples should be little hands. He says that in their current state, they are largely useless, but if they were a tiny set of hands, they could do things like hold a pencil for you, help you hold a map or piece of paper still in the wind etc... Not a bad idea I guess, but I like my nipples just the way they are.
First off, great picture.... secondly, being a curious biologist i did some reseach and found the answer to this age old question.
Dudes have nipples because chicks have nipples. All embryos start out as female. Gender is determined around the sixth week. A result of hormone " baths," triggered by the genetic character of the cells' chromosomes. So, the basic physiological structures are initially there, with the hormones released around the sixth week of development determining whether an embryo will develop female or male characteristics. duh
josh also wears his underwear inside out.....
Can't the hormone baths, like, eat away the nipples of the guys? Or couldn't God have just made the nipples form after six weeks?
